you might have seen on my uses page that i compute on an old macbook. the hardware itself is great, i honestly prefer it to the newer models that my parents have. i've got so many connection ports, 16 gigs of ram, 500gb of ssd, and a (broken) optical drive! the battery is shit, but that's what happens to any electronic that's around for >10 years.

the operating system is fine...i guess. i hate that the volume and brightness controls show up in the middle of the screen (really ideal when you're watching a movie). also for some reason it thinks that markdown files are openable with a retro gaming emulator i use??? so that's fun and awesome. my main greviences are with the uninstallable applications that it comes with. i don't need stocks or chess or whatever. let me remove them easily!! i will switch to a linux distro when i get my hands on either an external hard drive or another old laptop. so yeah, good hardware, mid os.

spring break is almost over, which i'm reasonably sad about. i honestly feel like i can learn most of my school subjects better at home than i could in school, except for math and science (but they're my weak areas anyways). this goes doubly for ap cs principles (how i hate you csp!). it's literally the most boring class in the world, filled with the most tech-incompitent people in the world...my teacher had to have a whole lesson on what "white hat" and "black hat" hackers were. also she generates most of her lessons with ai, so it's really easy to not try and still get an a. i spend most of class playing crosswords or reading stuff on textfiles.com.

i am also not excited to go back because of social stuff. i'm definitely not bullied or anything, but my lack of friends is more apparent when i'm around 2.5k other people. i also had a horrible encounter with one of my classmates over break. i'll relay it to you in pseudo-greentext:

• be me, on the bus
• zone out bc tired, and also that's just what i do
• bad habit of staring at randos on accident
• stare at random guy in front of me while daydreaming
• he turns around
• "oh shit sorry dude" (conveyed thru psychic powers) & stop looking at him
• realize he's in two of my classes

so yeah, i am not too excited about going back to school. i guess i'll have less time to work on this site (not like i was working on it a lot in the first place). i did do some fun things over break: got back into watching ethoslab, listened to a bunch of 90s emo, messed around in bash, pined for linux, trained more at the dojo, went to the museum with a friend. the first few weeks of april have some days off, so hopefully i'll get to do more of that.
